Rainbows & Ponytails…

hairstyle-ponytailI know what you’re thinking… what is up with this title? Crazy huh? It’s just that ponytails always make me think of fairy-tales, rainbows and all the girly stuff. And you know what? There is something very child-like about this hairstyle so I might not be that far off :) So yeah… today we talk bout hair!  Every now and then a little going back to basics is the best thing to do in terms of fashion or looks, and the Ponytail Hairstyle is just that – a great way to keep it simple while looking fabulous. The Ponytail is probably the most effortless and easy hairstyle to do, and it seems to be having a huge comeback for the past years or so. Did it ever lose the spotlight though? From catwalks to street styles, to red carpet events, to fashion editorials or lazy Sundays in the park – ponytails are the stars of hairstyles. So what is it about the simple pulled back hairdo that has us all coming back for more? Or never getting enough? Besides its easiness I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it basically fits any face shape and it’s versatile. Ponytail Styles are a dime a dozen and so are the occasions you can rock this look at. Not to mention how amazing they look with great earrings (simple or statement) and great makeup (be it eyes or lips focused). Leaving the face free it forces everyone else to check out that cool back tattoo you’re rocking or those fab huge colored chandelier earrings that are so posh today. messy-ponytailWhere to don the Ponytail? You’re joking right? Everywhere! Office look: crispy shirt, silky blouse, blazer, shift dress and a high or low sleek or messy ponytail will make you look effortless and chic. Not to mention how handy it comes on those nightmare mornings when you hairstyle is the last thing on your mind, or when you barely have time to dress and have your coffee let alone tame your mane. So just pull it back! Out for dinner and drinks with friends? Why a Ponytail can complete a sassy look and make you look: girly, feminine, hot, wild, or classy depending on what you’re going for. If celebs do it on the red carpet… and they look fantastic, I think it’s safe to say we can don this hairstyle look just about anywhere and pull it off in the most spectacular way possible. ponytail-street-stylesporty-style-ponytailstreet-style-low-sleek-ponytailstreet-style-ponytailAs nothing related to fashion is ever so easy… the Ponytail too comes with its style headaches, and trust me, they happen when you got the least of time and the most important occasion. Cause yeah… Ponytails can be styled in so many ways, yet if we’re to leave aside all the drama (that, let’s be honest dolls, we kinda love, it’s part of fashion, right?) all those ways to pony up your hair are a blessing! So there’s the High Ponytail - which will probably make your neck look longer and spotlight your features. It looks amazing with natural makeup, super glam eyes or bold lips. Perfect for day & night, for the gym and office too, for that pretentious cocktail party or dinner with family it’s the easiest and most classic way to look nice and put together. For an extra fashion drama add some bling earrings, or keep it simple with tiny cute studs. The High Ponytail can be styled with your hair combed back, with a side-part, center-part, and can be sleek or messy. classic-ponytailhair-look-high-ponytailOur Greatest Team Rises - BOA Olympic Concertponytailretro-ponytailThe Low Ponytail is a slight more elegant and classic (or proper) version of this hairstyle. With a side-part, center-part, sleek or messy it goes with absolutely anything, easy to do and pull off in any situation and for any face shape. Again, glam it up or keep it simple with your kind of earrings. messy-low-ponytailponytail-styleJohn ShearerThe Messy Ponytail be it high or low – is the perfect way to get through a crazy bad hair day. Who says you need to tame your hair? Pull it back in what looks like a loose ponytail and you’ll probably get that fab boho-chic look that everyone will be jealous of. hair-trend-messy-ponytailmessy-ponytail (2)retro-ponytail (2)For a classy more sophisticated style, got for the Sleek Ponytail: luscious, healthy, straight, it’s the best way to look put together, a bit glamorous and super chic! sleek-ponytailsleek-high-ponytailFor extra inspiration check out how celebs are rocking the Ponytail look everywhere. And I mean everywhere: red carpet, dinner out with friends, mugged by the paparazzi et all. The bouncy pony look is there! Blake Lively is always going for this hairstyle on the red carpet and always looks amazing. Kim Kardashian loves the sleek ponytail look (high and low both). I’ve seen Mila Kunis looking gorgeous with it and Nicole Richie or Lauren Conrad rocking different versions of the messy ponytail style. blake-lively-messy-ponytailblake-lively-ponytai;eva-mendes-ponytailcelebrities-ponytailsjessica-alba-sleek-low-ponytailkim-kardashian-high-ponytailkimk-ponytailkim-kardashian-ponytaillauren-conrad-ponytailmila-kunis-back-view-ponytailnicole-richie-messy-ponytailBest part about the Ponytail? If you think you found a new way to don this look or invent a new ponytail style… you’re probably right. And right you are in rocking it. There are so many ways over time this look has been reinvented, and had a comeback, that it seems to never stop, so let your imagination run wild and do your own thing. Why It’s OK To Wear BLACK This Summer?

all-black-2013-summer-trendThat Black & White is The Trend this season (click here for more) is no news flash to anyone, but wait… can we assume that Black (and black alone) is a Trend this season? Can we talk about a Summer in Black? I’m sure a summer in White for that matter is way more appropriate, hence the tons of white dresses and all the clothing attire in retail this season. Yet… black has never been so cool and OK to pull off in Summer, as it is in 2013. Well… perhaps apart from those 90′s grunge times, which, anyway are sort of back, and it all probably is a slight reminiscence of those alternative moods and anti-fashions. I would presume (unable to contain my excitement, DOH) that due to a lot of fashion signs happening out there (PUNK met gala, Punk/Rock/Grunge Street Styles, loads of non-colors on the catwalk for this season, loads of dark tones) – it is safe to say that in 2013 it will be OK (actually cool) to wear Black in the middle of Summer. OMG… what took you so long, Trends? long-black-sheer-dress-streetstyleSure it may be a bit uncomfortable if you’re living in desert like temperatures, and the world will probably risk looking like teenage outcasts, but – don’t be hasty just yet. Think about how classy and posh Black is. Or how you can never go wrong with a black dress, a black swimsuit (since we’ve got summer on our minds) or a black top. So, Black for 2013 Summer is a blessing to some and a drag to others. For the latter ones – breathe now… all you color lovers! Keep your summer’ish style intact while doing the black trend, by simply adding a hint of darkness to your look. Trending after all is about adapting it and making it your own, right? Go for bags, shoes, nails, jewellery, tops or bottoms. No rules… remember :)  2013-summer-trend-wearing-blackAudrina Patridge-beach-black-dressblack-bathing-suitrihanna-black-swim-suitHaving a green pass to don Black in Summer gives us tons of options in regards to looks and styles we can pull off. Black is versatile and so the options are limitless. A black dress can look classic with heels, can look edgy with boots, boho-chic with sandals, sporty-chic with tennis shoes… and so on. A black suit is classy but can turn to edgy when paired with statement accessories, or a funky top. Black can take you to the office and make you look like a top manager, or place you later on in a bar looking like the most hipster of them all. It will never be dated, never be inappropriate, never be too much or too less. Always easy to dress up or down. Sophisticated and chic when you want to and rebel & edgy when you feel like it. 2013-summer-trend-all-black-look2013-summer-trend-all-blackall-black-2013-summer-trendblack-dress-street-styleCharlize Theron : Sexy in Blackclassy-black-lookstreet-style-2013-summer-trends-blackstreet-style-blackstreetstyle-classy-black-dressstreetstyle-black-dress (2)With the grunge trend still on (click here for more) Black can make you look like a reinvented cool version of yourself from back in the day. 50 Shades Of Sunnies…

retro-sunglasses-cat-eyeWell not 50, but enough to get us fashion confused over what sunglasses to choose. What styles are in, and how do you pick yours? Do you stick with it or not? And if you were to choose one, yes ONE type of sunglasses to wear for the rest of your life, which one would it be? When it comes to sunglasses I always feel as if Trends are a bit overrated and it’s not what’s IN one season as much as what looks good on you or what you love to wear. It can be a retro style (that no one else is doing) or even 3 seasons ago hot stuff. Who gives a crap if they’re so last Tuesday as long as you love them, right? Yet… let’s indulge into the Trend Shades for a tiny bit… What is hot for 2013 Summer? I suppose the retro sunglasses, read Cat-Eye Shades or even super crazy styles, cause of the ’60′s revival you know. With the 90′s trend come the round shades… not my faves, but they do look amazing on some. And then there are the rest of the sunnies that were pretty big in the last seasons, and guess what? Personally I’m not ready to part ways with either of them: Wayfarer & Aviator Sunglasses. Yep… they’re still my faves. sunglasses-styleAnd now dolls let’s see each and every one of them and take sides. Whether or not sunglasses should be chosen according to face shape is up to you. I have this theory (I know how crazy right?) that everyone looks good with any type of sunglasses. Sure they can look crazy, funky, classic, rock’n roll, edgy et all, but, a statement or not… they will look great. Anyway, that’s just what I think. Let’s start off with my all time favorite sunglasses: The Wayfarer Shades. They are the sunglasses of my teenage years, those grunge ’90′s when everyone in Beverly Hills 90210 was spotted with them, and every rock star had a pair on for the cool’ness or to hide from the paps. Today they are a nostalgic reminiscence of that, with a bit of poshness to them, and a tiny bohemian vibe. I just feel they always add a bit of edginess and rebelliousness to a look & an outfit, without making it over the top.

The Wayfarer Sunglasses (read above) wayfarere-shadesstreetstyle-wayfarer-sunglassescolored-wayfarer-shadesEmma_Watson-wayfarer-sunglasseswayfarer-shadeswayfarer-sunglasses-lookwayfarer-sunniesThen come the Aviator Sunglasses. For me it’s always a battle between these 2: Aviator vs Wayfarer. I can literally never come to terms with my fashion taste on this one. Not that I have to or anything, I mean there are enough sunny days to rock over 150 shades of glasses… I just like to dramatize a little bit. You know for fashion’s sake :)

Aviator Sunglasses aviator-shades-stylestreet-style-avoator-sunglassesaviator-shades-boho-lookaviator-shades-style (2)aviator-sunglasses-stylesunglasses-tyle-aviatorThe Retro Sunglasses – they will always be in. Always fit any type of face. On any occasion, at any age.  cat-eye-sunglassesretro-shades=cat-eyeRihanna Says Goodbye to Londonstreet-style-cat-eye-sunglassesThe Round Sunglasses – these can be a bit tricky as they will not fit all face shapes (contrary to my ”theory”), but if you can pull it off, and strut you hot stuff in them… go for it. They’ve got that hippy retro vibe to them that takes you away to those 60′s Rock Festivals when it was all about the peace and the music. round-sunglasses-stylealicia-keys-round-sunglassesround-style-shadesround-sunglasses-style (2)The Funky Shades – now these ones will always be hot, just because there will always be a nut to rock them and look fabulous enough to start a trend. The funky shades are pretty cool and fun so if you’ve got it… flaunt it! crazy-sunglassesfunky-shadesfun-sunglasses-funky-stylesunglasses-streetstyleEnough rambling and scrolling through options. Let’s decide on ONE Type of Sunglasses. What’s you Shades Style?

Is The LWD Replacing The LBD This Season?

$

natalia-voidianova-white-dressOnce upon a time us girls saved the white dress for The Day, you know. When we’d all meet that special one and had the best excuse to drape ourselves in white (read princess attire) for one whole day. Well thank God that misconception is gone – of saving the white looks for later and only for one day. Ha! Fast forward a few decades and the same girls need no more excuses to don white in plain day and can save their own asses, thank you. Hell, we can be queens for weeks in a row without having to plan our whole lives ahead, around wearing a white dress. Fairytales and exaggerations (for the sake of a few raised eyebrows and smirks) aside, it does seem, more in 2013 Summer than ever before, that the LBD has gotten the ‘‘Bitch please, it’s my time to shine!” slap from the LWD (little white dress). Ever since the sun hit the skies this spring I keep switching between trends: a few weeks ago it was all neon, then it was all prints (floral, matchy matchy, mismatched et all), then it hit me: black & white (I’m blaming the 60′s Trend on that one), and last week I declared it a Summer in Black. What the hell is wrong with me? Well a lot. But that’s not up for (this) discussion. I’m just telling it like it is, and yes I love that it’s all changing. Fashion does tend to get into the bitchy moods, styles & looks swing. Yeah I know I’ve said that before. :) Anyway let’s get on with today’s Trend Alert: Summer in White? Actually I think it’s more the Return of the LWD… What do you think?  white-dress-stylewhite-dress-trend-2013return-of-the-LWDHas it always been a fashion hit and a common thing to don a white little dress in summer? Or is the floaty little thing a fad of the 2013 hot season? Is it a comeback or a fresh new start? For the past year or so a lot of celebs have been doing the white dress for the red carpet or for going out. Same ones (pretty much) were spotted in the same non-color on the streets, off -duty so to speak. Then, a few Fashion Weeks ago designers were showing collections packed with the absence of color. And now the shops are just stacked on whites. Dresses to be more precise. And the streets are loving it. 2013-summer-trend-white-dressesboho-chic-long-white-dressgirly-white-dress-streetstyleAt first I was somewhat taken aback by this too girly goody-goody look & trend, but you know what? I could’t be more far off. I do love black and more grunge meets punk styles, I know, but… here comes the beauty of it… the white little dress is just as versatile (if not more) than the basic blacks or the funky colors. A short white mini dress might be the perfect choice for an event (hey I’m considering one for next month when I get married at the City Hall). It looks simple, classy and effortless when paired with heels. I love how a LWD looks with gold heeled sandals! I think it’s the ultimate glamour. For a bit of fun go for super colored heels. Keep the dress short, or knee length and go for skin tight designs or loose/floaty ones, depending on your style. For chilly evenings throw over a denim or leather jacket. Do not forget accessories: clutches, jewels, nails, lips etc. Spice it all up girls! blake-lively-white-dresscasual-white-dresscocktail-white-dresskim-kardashian-style-white-dresskristin_cavallari-little-white-dress red-carpet-white-dressrihanna-white-dresses-styleWhite lace dresses are having a huge comeback, but listen up dolls… you can wear them in plain day, from morning to evening without risking to look as if you’re doing the walk of shame.  lace-white-dress-edgy-stylestreet-style-white-dresswhite-lace-dresswhite-lace-dress-daytimeBasically any white dress can switch its style in a second with the help of shoes. Hot heels will make it very cocktail appropriate. Black studded ankle boots will make it look edgy, suede colored block heeled ankle boots will give it a boho-chic vibe, sandals will make it all seem summer’ish and cool, ballet pumps will make it look feminine… and so on. Pile on accessories or keep it simple to get it all completed. streetstyle-white-dress-2013streetstyle-white-dressesstreetstyle-white-dresstopshop-white-dresses-stylesummer-white-dresswhite-dress-2013-summer-trendwhite-dress-day-timewhite-dress-fashion-trendwhite-dress-hot-heelswhite-dress-lookwhite-dress-look-street-stylewhitedress-stylewhite-dress-trendwhite-mini-dress-lookzimmermanndressThe more I think about it the more I’m loving this LWD returnYou?

The Skater Skirt!

$

red-skater-skirtAlongside the white tee, the leather jacket and those cutoffs you can’t let go off ever – it seems pretty safe to say the flared mini high-waisted skirt has become a fashion staple. Easily dressed up or down for any season (add your tights & boots in winter, top it off with a chic coat or slouchy warm jumper; or keep your legs bare and play with funky tops while on hot heels or gladiator sandals for summer) – this little skirt is probably the most faltering item in your closet regardless of your body type. It adds curves where there’re not, it hides them if it’s the case, creates long legs due to its high waist and mini cut. And it comes in so many styles and designs it’s a heaven for us girls. But is the Skater Skirt a new trend? Of course not. Which is not bad, it’s a good thing we keep reinventing stuff from the past, but I wouldn’t mind a few new ideas here and there. Anyway… when was the Skater Skirt born? Well… basically somewhere in those kitsch & funky ’80′s, when – listen to this – skating fashion was pretty huge, hence the name of the skirt, inspired by the skating dancers’ styles. I’ve always thought those ice-dancers were the most beautiful and ethereal thing ever, and it’s probably that image that we keep going back to, with the Skater Skirt Trend in 2013 – a sort of multifaceted femininity or careless playful innocent girl, who loves to play dress-up. trend-alert-skater-skirtskater-skirtAs I said though, do not for a minute let yourself be fooled by the basic idea of a Skater Skirt and hastily assume that it’s a sartorial choice only for the teens. Since the Skater Skirt has become a Trend in its own right, the styles and looks one can get with this mini flared little thing are a dime a dozen. And one of the big hits the Skater Skirt has had in 2013 would definitely have to be: The Leather Skater Skirt! Probably a tiny step away from the too cute version of the classic skirt, the leather most certainly adds a bit of edge, without looking too punk (unless you want it to) and turning the skater skirt into a fashion choice for all women, regardless of age or job. Remember those Fashion Week street styles? So many fashionistas, editors, photographers were strutting the streets outside the shows in the most adorable and hot leather skater skirts ever. leather-skater-skirt-trendleather-skater-skirt-lookleather-skater-skairt-chic-lookthe-leather-skater-skirt (2)the-leather-skater-skirtblack-leather-skater-skirtsThe beauty of this bottom trend is how cool and easy it can look with anything. Sticking to the leather skater skirt, it looks super posh and fashion, in a very glam way with classic pumps, stilettos & high heeled shoes. A blazer will keep the look chic & sophisticated, a leather jacket will make it edgy and a jumper will make it a bit bohemian. High heeled ankle boots make it all look a bit rock’n roll but still girly enough, flat boots are for a casual edgy style, and ballet pumps for those days when you’ve got a lot of leg work to do, but still wanna keep it girly. For the most adorable style, that’ll keep you warm, comfy and looking like a hipster – mix your skater skirt with tennis shoes. edgy-skater-skirtsleather-glam-skater-skirtsleather-skater-skirt-bootsleather-skater-skirt-edgy-look-bootspunk-look-skater-skirtleather-skater-skirt-streetstyleskater-skirt-cropped-topskater-skirt-fashion-trendskater-skirt-leather-longo-bootsstreets-tyle-2013-summper-skater-skirtIf leather is not your thing, or it’s too much to wear to work or school, opt for other fabrics and keep your hem longer or shorter depending on your preference and occasion. Keep it basic or classy with simple cuts and colors: black, white, nude, red or blue. Or have fun with it: floral, funky prints, neon shades, stripes, dots, lace etc. Make sure the waist is high enough so that it’ll make your legs look endless (especially if you’re wearing heels or wedges) and tuck your top in.

I have to say, I think the skater skirt is probably that thing in your closet you always wear, and it gets your out of a fashion trouble so often – you just gotta to love it. And in summer it’s the perfect go to piece whether you’re on vacation, working your ass of in the office, or going out for drinks with your friends.

What Do You Think About… Jumpsuits?

$

jumpsuit-comebackElvis has (yet) to leave the building” my lovely fashionistas. With all this ’70′s comeback in 2013 Spring/Summer, and today’s Jumpsuits topic, no wonder my mind literally jumps to all those (hideous) jumpsuits from back in the day, starting with Elvis Presley (and his white over the top uber glam stage outfits) and ending with ABBA & those disco-kitsch uniforms of pop/rock stars from the ”Drugs, Sex & Rock’n Roll” age. But as much as we love (NOT) those tight spandex glittery neon bright circus costumes, going by the name of jumpsuits, designers sure deserve our kudos for how they’ve played up, nipped, tucked and reinvented the classic-with-a-twist jumpsuit. From Prabal Gurung to Diane Von Furstenberg, BCBG et all, 2013 S/S is such a brilliant reminiscing of those 70′s in the best way possible. The aforementioned gurus of style and fashion have taken this working class uniform/once kitsch stage costume and did a 180 on it, luring us with long sleek silhouettes, silky fabrics, fluidity, softness, loose cuts, plunging necklines, bare backs, halter-necks, long sleeves, prints, solid colors. Designs for day & night. For skinny & curvy bodies. For women and girls alike. Sounds too good to be true, isn’t it? Don’t choose to be a non-believer just yet… have a look. jumpsuit-retro-lookfluid-jumpsuits-looksrunway-jumpsuitprabal-gurung-jumpsuitwhite-jumpsuitsWhat is so captivating about this clothing item I wonder? Besides its inherent indecisiveness, that is. Or is it this very ‘it’s a dress‘, ‘No. It’s a jumpsuit‘, ‘No, get outta here. It’s clearly a pair if trousers and a matching top‘ – sartorial conversation that has us all giving it the double stare, only to end up jumping in on the Jumpsuit Trend? Cause it’s none of the above. But it could be. Hell it can be. It can mimic a dress, and a matchy matchy top and bottom outfit. Ah… how we love a bit of controversy every now and then. Though I might be a little hasty on this one, I will risk a tiny assumption: not everyone digs the once Si-Fi suit, right? Let’s just say it might take more than one date to fall in love with it. Jumpsuits have always given me that WTF reaction and a quick hand dismissal as I came across one on the shop rails. Then, I’d see it on a gorgeous girl, and I felt bad about giving it the cold shoulder. But that was a few years ago. Cause jumpsuits did try to push through in fashion earlier than 2013. They just never stuck, I guess. And now that I think about it I wonder why? Who is to blame for their 2013 huge comeback? Is it designers alone? Celebs donning evening jumpsuits on the red carpet like crazy? Or, is it us? The regulars and non-VIPs who make street style a source of inspo & trends? printed-jumpsuitsjumpsuit-evening-lookjumpsuit-lookBest part about the jumpsuit? Actually there are a few:

  • it fits absolutely every body type
  • it can adapt to any occasion & event (work, going out, chilling with your best friend over a cup of tea, cocktail parties, dinners)
  • it’s classy & sophisticated
  • it’s easy to wear, dress up or down

I think the ultimate touch of glamour & sophistication is that of a one color Jumpsuit, in a silky fluid, slightly slouchy fabric, with a metallic belt, (maybe) pockets, bare back VS plunging neckline.

She looks put together yet careless in her style (red nails, posh bag, earrings, shades and untamed hair) which makes her so much more enticing. floral-jumpsuitfloral-jumpsuit-trendstreetstyle-jumpsuitSinger Rihanna is seen arriving at a hotel in Londonstreet-style-jumpsuitjumsuit-trend-2013summer-jumpsuit-streetstylewhite-jumpsuit-streetstyleBut you see… when talking Jumpsuits as a 2013 Summer Trend, the sky’s the limit. So if fluidity, silky fabrics and a too-feminine style is not for you, there are still plenty of fish in the sea of jumpsuits. Denim. Structured. Metallic.  Boy’ish cuts, psychedelic prints, funky styles. floral-jumpsuit-lookjumpsuitstreet-style-structured-jumpsuitThough I was a hard shell to crack on this Jumpsuits craze, they got to me. And for that I blame the long silky super feminine one-color jumpsuit worn with sky high heels. Effortlessly feminine, sexy & sophisticated. I’m hooked. And that’s the truth. evening-jumpsuits-1How about you?

The history of fringed clothes goes back in time to the ancient tribes who used to wear fringes in order to sew up a busted moccasin, a torn seam, or to tie things together when they were in the field. In fashion, the first track of fringes goes back to 1920′s, the Jazz Age, those roaring times famous for their Charleston, Ella Fitzgerald, bootlegging, looseness and total emancipation of women,  when girls who loved to dance used to wear embroidered or shawled dresses which made their moves look sexier. baker-style-fringes20s-style-fringesThen, when I was 10 my favorite t-shirt was fringed…as you know, fashion trends come and go and the summer of 2013 brings back this decorating detail. Designers are using them to garnish clothes, bags, shoes and accessories. You’ll see these elements a lot on leather items, in particular on jackets, bags or clutches and boots. fringes-lookfringed-clutchfringes-trend-summer-2013coachella-style-fringed-bagstreetstyle-fringed-bagfringed-skirt-street-styleMaybe it’s hard to imagine, but you can wear fringed shoes with an elegant outfit, either pumps or sandals. In terms of casual outfits, you’ll rock the summer if you chose to wear fringed boots and a pair of denim shorts. Trust me, with some nice tanned legs you won’t pass unnoticed ;) You can wear a white tank top or a loose white t-shirt or you could chose to wear an oversized shirt instead. fringes-boots-stylefringed-boots-streets-tylefringes-style-fashionYou don’t have a fringed clothing item and want to find out if this trend would match your personality? Then take an old t-shirt you are willing to throw away and test your skills, who knows what special abilities you’re hiding?

If you are a not a fan of this trend, you can still try a nice fringed necklace like the one in the picture bellow: Indian heritage meets style ;)  accessories-lookphotos via Pintrest, Tumblr, Harpersbazaar

Summer Boots Or How To Look Like Rockstars?

grunge-summer-looksDo you feel as if sometimes you get hooked on a look and just can’t let it go? And despite those ”enough is enough” stares you get, you just can’t stop. Being the most ”fashion-romantically” unstable person (well I’m committed to fashion, just have a problem of sticking to one style) I get a new style crush just about every week. I live from crushes to crushes, it does tend to affect my finances, but other than that, I don’t see where the problem is. For the past 2 weeks now I’m obsessed with summer boots. Which may not even be summer boots per se, just boots you wear in summer. Not a trend, not a must-have look for 2013, not the latest fad round the block – yet The Summer Boots Look is at the top of my list this week. From posh heeled ankle boots to those grunge looking designs – these shoes, when paired with a summer outfit (read cutoffs or flirty dresses) turn any girl into one of those off-duty models or hot celebs spotted hiding behind shades in the coolest most effortless outfits. I do think this boho / grunge look is having a sort of comeback (still) due to all this punk inspired & 90′s fashion revival. Besides, the weather is more than helpful, I mean one minute it’s summer, next we’re all in autumn, so a pair of boots to keep your feet warm might just be the best thing this season. At least until the weather makes up its mind. How easy is it to style boots into a summer look, though? Have we all gone mad in here with these autumn grunge styles in summer? (remember black trend for 2013 summer?) Or are we that inpatient? summer-boots-looksThe secret to donning boots in summer is to make it look effortless, as if you literally just don’t give a damn and those boots were the 1st thing you found when leaving the house in a rush, regardless of what you’re wearing. And the styles you can play with are a dime a dozen. So if you want to get a smart sophisticated glam look go for those stiletto heeled ankle boots (peep-toe or not) in black, for a super sleek style,  or funky colors for more chicness. They look amazing with pencil skirts and blazers, or those floaty, silky maxi dresses and a leather jacket. Shorts or mini skirts can also do the trick and add more sexiness to it all. boots-summer-dressboots-in-summer-style-cutoffsglamorous-boots-summer-looksummer-ankjle-boots-looknicky_hilton-summer-bootsAnother sophisticated look, but more on the comfy side, rather boho-chic actually, is given by those suede ankle boots in light shades with or without a block heel. They look fantastic with floral mini dresses, cutoffs and cool tops and can adapt to any look you’re going for: feminine, bohemian, cool, fun… Think off duty model going to a music festival or spotted in Paris after leaving a fashion show. streetstyle-boots-summer-2013ankle-boots-dress-summer-lookboots-in-summerboots-summer-trendbrown-boots-dress-summer-lookcoachella-black-shorts-bootsny-elle-com-beigesummer-boots-lookAnd speaking of music festivals and looks, what is the best style these events have given us? Why the glam grunge look of course: black or brown studded motorcycle boots and just about anything you want to wear. You can go for the most feminine glamorous clothes which will look fabulously cool when clashed with the rocknroll style of the boots. Again think models off duty or New York street style. Adapt and reinvent to your own mood and occasion and you’ll be looking pretty hipster without trying.  studded-summer-bootsarizona-muse-summer-bootsboots-in-summer-lookboots-look-cotoffs-summer-2013boots-street-style-summerKarlie kloss-summer-boots-dressstreets-style-boots-bare-legsstreets-style-boots-summer-trendstreets-style-summer-bootssummer-look-boots-skirtsummer-style-boots-cutoffssummer-look-boots-dressThere’s just something plain cool & chic about bare legs and boots, and I think we can just fuck all the fashion trend rules on this one and go with the vibe of the moment. We do it for Coachella and the likes of it, why not on a regular day? If not to keep our feet warm in case of showers then just to channel our inner off duty model persona. And to think a few years ago I hated boots (for summer)… and could not imagine a hot season in other shoes than sandals & flip flops… I guess inconsistencies like these make us us explore fashion more and try out different looks. Some stick some don’t, but fashion is all about having fun and experimenting. Right?

Are You Ready To… Ruffle?

$

street-style-rufflesAllow me to be slightly skeptical on this one. While the Ruffle Trend for 2013 Spring/Summer was huge (and amazing) on the catwalk (I’m still head over heels over Chloe, Gucci & Balenciaga‘s collections) I honestly feel that its transition to the streets has not made the fashion intended waves. Could it be that Ruffles are too ’80′s reminiscent? Or too girly? Or maybe it’s just me, because the 2013 ruffle reinterpretation is more architectural, structured and less frilly or borderline kitsch. Besides, today’s fashion main trait is that it allows us to get creative with a trend and mix it more easily into our style and personality. What we get then is a sea of Ruffle options: ruffled tops (busy or super subtle), ruffled skirts, dresses, shorts, bags, or even shoes… .  And that is fantastic especially for those who feel a bit overwhelmed by the idea of draping themselves in this flamenco attire. On the other hand a bit of ruffle will make an outfit more feminine and less stiff, making it look like you’re having loads of fun with fashion. The risk of looking like you’re stuck in your 80′s prom or channeling your inner clown might not be so inherent if you find that fashion balance. I know I always encourage everyone to fuck all fashion rules, but… there might just be a few cases when it’s better to be smart about it, rather than wild and flipping the bird all over the place. ruffle-trendSometimes balance is the keyHow To Balance Your Ruffles?

First of all, forget over-accessorizing (I’m getting all teary just thinking about it), if you don’t want to look like a psychedelic doll, that is. So, let’s begin with tops. Big ruffles that frame the face look great with your hair pulled back, and with the rest of your outfit rather simple. If the ruffles are silky, feminine and floaty, the top would probably look fab with jeans and heels (for a posh sophisticated look) of flats (ballet, loafers or brogues) for a bit more chic man-meets-woman look. Not too bad actually. You could probably done the top-ruffle-look for both office (with a pencil skirt or tapered trousers) or for out-of-work style, from going out evenings to summer beach looks, weekend strolls et all. Structured ruffles may be harder to pull off, but not impossible. Same architectural rules apply: keep your body balanced.

gucci-ruffle-topruffle-topsruffled-leather-jacket-street-styleruffles-look-editorialsruffle-tank-topruffle-top-lookruffle-trendruffle-trend-2013-catwalkOr you might just want to do ruffles on skirts which again is all about equilibrium, though I have to say, ruffle skirts sound much more appealing for some reason. My fave look: ruffled girly skirt balanced by a simple top and ankle boots. Sort of boho chic borderline rocknroll chick. ruffle-long-skirt-lookruffle-skirts-trendruffle-skirt-look (2)ruffle-skirt-lookruffle-trend-ruffled-skirtstreetstyle-ruffle-skirtstreet-style-ruffle-skirtruffles-trend-summer-2013And what about ruffle dresses? Now… in this case, forget all I said. (I know I can get slightly inconsistent). Summer ruffle short dresses look amazing! They’re both girly and sexy, both flirty and feminine and can go from morning to evening with any type of shoes. I simply adore a tiny dress in one color with floaty silky ruffles, tiny spaghetti strings and bare back. Stiletto sandals and a sexy attitude will complete this party look. ruffle-trend-2013-dressesruffle-dressruffle-dress-lookruffle-dress-styleruffle-dress-trend-2013ruffles-trend-2013ruffles-trend-catwalk-2013ruffle-style-dressruffle-trend-dress (2)ruffle-trend-dressstreet-style-ruffle-dressstreet-style-ruffle-dress-trendstreet-style-rufflesCan you ever get over-the-top with ruffles?

Well… yeah. If you’re a model in an editorial you can. Just have a look at the pics below and you might just (like myself) fall for the ruffle look. Big dresses with ruffled never-ending trains that cover entire stairs and floors look dramatic and beautiful. Yeah. We’ll be wearing those errr… wait. Never. ruffle-dress-look-2013ruffle-evening-dressruffle-look-2013-trendruffle-trend-2013Ruffles are THE trend this season all right, and though I can accept a few frills here and there, I’m not yet sold on this look. It tends to translate into a bit of a teenage look (which I’m light years distance from) and may look a bit too prom queen’ish for me, or too overwhelming. On the other hand ruffles may help create volume and curves where some of us were less blessed. So I guess it is a trend to keep an eye on. Which I might be doing in the hope that eventually (before the deadline expires, read Fall 2013) I get hooked. Though knowing myself I’ll probably be 2 steps behind this one. Debate-with-myself aside, I’m curious where all you lovely beauties stand on this one…

MAXI Skirts: The Trend That Never Dies?

maxi-skirt-trend-2013Do you think it’s true, or is it just me? Are we smitten with the MAXI Skirt or what? Easy to style, versatile, super feminine and a camouflage weapon for those days when, as hot as we may look, we feel quite the opposite, but (being fashionistas all the way) we still  can’t give in to a sloppy look. Though it’s been around for some seasons now, and designers keep bringing it to their collections in both seasons, the MAXI Skirt still leads the way, and I think it’s never been as MAXI of a trend as it is in 2013 Summer. What is amazing about this year, (as a consequence of the 2000′s  eclectic trait I think) is that it seems to me the MAXI Skirt has reinvented itself and earned more ground by bringing together all its previous style fads as long as they keep one common ground: it’s MAXI read long. I know… I’m talking about the maxi skirt as if it’s a person. Yeah, I tend to lose it sometimes. :)  one-color-maxi-skirtsSo, is every possible long skirt design you can think of, IN? Probably. As long as the feature betrayed by its very name is intact,  design & color wise the sky is the limit. Prints of all sorts, pleats, jersey straight high slit skirts, see-through, high or low-waisted, one-color, bright, hem brushing the floor, ankle long, slit (in front, back, right, left or both sides) – and feel free to add your own anytime, are just a few designs a maxi comes in. Style wise it goes with absolutely anything, hence its versatility and the fact that you can take it to a dinner, a date, a cocktail party or even to the beach. Actually, investing into one (well OK, more) would be the wisest thing to do, especially because you can stretch it all into your winter looks with boots and tights… Yep. It is literally the best staple these days. sporty-chic-maxiskirtsMAXI Skirts with heels! Ah… this is a perfect look for an evening out or for an event. It’s feminine and effortless and it has that sophisticated rich vibe to it. Here are a few looks for fashion inspo… blue-maxi-skirt-trendamazing-maxi-skirtmaxi-skirt-trend-street-style (2)MAXI Skirts with flats are the perfect combo for a casual stroll or for the office. Pick one in one color and pair it with a simple T-shirt and a blazer and you’re the definition of chic. ;)  maxi-skirt-streetstylemaxi-skirt-trend (2)street-style-skirts_MAXIwhite-maxi-skirt-trendMAXI Skirts with tennis shoes are one of my faves looks. Cute, girly, effortless, young and free.  mxi-skirt-tennis-shoesrihanna-maxi-skirt-tennis-shoesstreet-style-coachella-maxi-skirt-sneakersHow to choose your MAXI Skirt? To avoid any regrets simply buy as many as you feel like it :) A pleated one color skirt is amazing for any event and can easily adapt to so many occasions. So… it’s an investment you have to make. The ones in black and nude are perfect for a understated glamorous elegant sophisticated look. I adore them! But my MAXI skirt crush at the moment is the one that comes in emerald green and peach or orange. black-maxi-skirt-trendstreetstyle-maxi-skirt-trendmaxi-skirt-casual-looknude-flowy-maxi-skirtpeach-maxi-skirt-lookgreen-maxi-skirt-lookmaxi-skirt-lookmaxi-skirt-stylemaxi-skirt-trendmaxi-skirt-trend-neon-stylesummer-looks-maxi-skirt-trendtumblr_m9e2nq1vI41qhuk2uo1_500For those of you who love a bit of boho-chicness in their style the printed gypsy style MAXI skirts are amazing! Extremely trendy and feminine they can make a huge fashion statement and need no extra frills to spice up the look: a basic top and a few blings will have you looking like an exotic model. maxi-skirt-seethrough-trend maxi-skirt-gypsy-stylemaxi-skirt-gypsy-style (2)maxi-skirt-seethrough-trendmaxi-skirt-trend-gypsy-styleAnd as of this year, we’re seeing a lot of those 90′s style type of MAXI jersey skirts. Think urban glam or Rihanna’s collection for River Island. They’re more sporty chic, fitted, with a high slit on the side usually, ankle length hem, and look brilliant with a bare midriff and tennis shoes! For a more bad-ass urban look pile on jewellery and rock some crazy nails and shades. black-maxi-skirt-trend (2)jersey-maxi-skirt-trendDon’t know about you but I am in love with this trend and I do hope it still stretches out into the cold season, cause there are so many looks and styles to don with the MAXI skirt that I feel one season (though it’s been around for more) would never be enough. We’re just getting started for God’s sake! BTW what is your fave MAXI Skirt style? Let’s share and debate lovelies and if in doubt just try one on these day. After all its the weekend and we need to have loads of fun! :)  xoxo

To Belt OR Not To Belt?

$

buckle-belts- that is the question this summer. When I think about it I feel as if I’ve done a slight injustice talking (a lot) about accessories, yet never once mentioning one of the most common, famous and incredibly stylish waist attires: The Belt! Just because it’s always there, at least for men (if we ever ditch it, the gents will remind us of its existence, so no chance in hell it’s gonna go away) doesn’t mean we should take it for granted. But are Belts a trend in 2013 summer? Are they making a comeback or, having never left the mainstream, they’re now suffering a slight readjustment and are capturing our attention more? I think it’s a bit of both actually. Designers are using belts more an more in their collections, for this season as well as for the 2014 Fall, and that’s due to the inspiration decades & currents they plunge into. Today it’s all about the Punk era, the 70′s, & the grunge 90′s – hence the belt’s comeback, right? A punk darker look (be it posh or grunge) begs you to put a belt on it. And your choices are limitless: metallic belts, studded belts, vintage or classic styles, funky designs… That’s the beauty of 2013: it’s all in, with a slight quirkiness. For the more classic ladies out there – Diane von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, or even Vivienne Westwood’s 1940′s meets punk collection – are worth taking inspo from. It’s vintage meets classic retro with a modernist edge: thin or double belts, metallic, tightly marking the waist are reminiscent of those elegant vivid war ladies of the 40′s. But if all is in, and the sky is the limit… can we assume fashion rules apply no longer when it comes to belts? Can we put a belt on just about anything? belts-stylesYears ago one of the biggest fashion faux pas was not matching your belt with you bag, shoes and gloves. Just ask your grandmas. No respectable lady would ever be seen in mismatched accessories. Ha! Fast forward years later and the faux pas has turned into a must-do. Today it is not required to match your belt with your bag or shoes, au contraire last year the more mismatched you were the trendiest you looked. Crazy, huh? Well… it does take practice to mismatch right and look amazing in a crowd of prints that don’t don’t go together. But matching your belt with your shoes or/and bag these days, will not place you in the fashion-outcasts corner either. Because fashion is more liberating and creative these days. You’re basically free to do your own thing if you like it, it looks good and it tells the world who you are. Belts today are fun accessories that can be the centerpiece of your outfit, can be the pop of color, or the statement of your look. thin-beltTrends for Belts this summer? The metallic belt is the star of the moment right now, in both gold and silver, mostly on skirts and dresses or clothes in silky fabrics. It’s extremely elegant and glamorous and if you keep the rest of your outfit simple, a metallic belt, that beautifully nips your waist can make you look fantastic. Not to mention it can spice up old clothes, glam up looks you’ve already done, or just make you look more put together in that rich luxurious way from morning to evening. Celebs are wearing belts on evening gowns for trend sake and as a style-trick. evening-beltsmetallic-belt-trend-2013street-style-beltswhite-dress-metal-belt-street-styleBrown belts are huge this summer. Vintage looking, super long and tied in that special knot are seen on jeans, cutoffs, skirts, dresses, adding a bit of boho-chic style to any look. If brown is not your thing, yet you’re loving this vintage-boho style, pick long belts in neutral tones. And, to join the hipsters on this one – you have got to do the knot! :)  belt-look-2013brown-belts-trendbrown-knotted-beltbrown-beltbelts-stylegrunge-style-belthow-to-style-beltsknotted-beltstreet-style-beltstreet-style-brown-beltsthick-brown-beltThe Belt-Knot!

the-belt-knotFor classic, can’t-be-bothered-attitudes, yet still fashionable, or for grunge/punk styles pick black belts and play with designs, shape, textures. Go for studs, chains, super thin, patent, leather, thick, with funky buckles and wear them on trousers or over tops, skirts, jumpers. A cool belt should be the star of an outfit and can nip your waist over the clothes and not stay hidden for practical reason underneath it all.

Which brings me to another trend of the belts: show off your belts! They want to be seen, so unless you’re wearing the neutral styles on jeans or cutoffs (easily spotted from under your top anyway) you have to take your belt out: over skirts, over dresses, jackets, sweaters… Best part: it marks your waist, creates a great shape and is the latest accessory.

belts-lookbelt-trend-2013streetstyle-beltstudded-beltthick-beltAnd no list is ever complete without the weird ones: they’re the best. Funky belts in all the textures you can imagine, with gem stones, psychedelic prints, funny cool shapes – basically imagination run wild and landed on your waist. They’re statement pieces which most of the times hold an outfit together and bring it in the spotlight. statement-beltprinted-beltstatement-buckle-beltfunky-belts-stylesTrendy or not, belts are massive these days and I truly think the sky the limit design or color wise. The beauty of this classic timeless accessory is its versatility. How easy it does it give us what we want in terms of looks and styles, and how fantastically can it transform a look from boring to trendy? Though today rules are not to be obeyed, I’m curious: do you like matching your belts to your shoes or bags?

Summer Dresses: How To Look & Stay Cool In 2013 Summer?

flirty-summer-dress-2013Are dresses the best summer staple or what? I always felt that once the temperatures get boiling hot you can kiss fashion & trends goodbye, cause let’s be honest when you’re sweating like a pig on your way to work, you’ll probably regret choosing style over coolness. So can we all just stick to flip-flops, cut-offs and cropped tops please, for the next 3 months? Errr… well no. Not really. Truth is, not rare are the occasions when dressing up for the appropriate situations in summer tends to gives us headaches rather than excitement. But as I said there is that one perfect summer attire that will always have our backs: The Summer Dress. It’s never dated, but always reinvented, easy to style & dress up or down. In 2013 summer, designers have given us the free pass to rock almost all styles, yet the maxi dresses, the shift dresses and the flirty, short, spaghetti strapped ones in the best prints ever are the hits of the season. On a more trend-note, the black dress, the white dress and I also think the one-color (or solid color ones) are the IT dresses of 2013. how-to-wear-black-summer-dresssummer-dress-looksummer-dress-streetstyleOn one hand there’s the feminine classy take on summer dresses: silky fabrics, fluidity, flowy textures, prints, nipped at the waist with posh belts, frills, bare backs, slits etc. On the other hand, due to the trend links  (yes I’m talking about the 90′s comeback) the jersey dresses with tiny spaghetti straps or those small printed flirty short ones in washed out colors are a great reminiscence of those grunge times when we were all rocking leather necklaces and bracelets and listening to Nirvana. So if today’s summer dresses are all over the place and can’t just channel on one style, what do we do? Go with our mood, occasion and fave looks. D’ohhh. :) This fashion freedom and potential to find just about any design dress you want is fantastic. Besides there is the take-me-from-morning-to-evening-trait these dresses have. Slip a pair of heels on or go flip-flips to switch looks. Ditch your bag for a clutch, or vice-versa, pile on jewellery or keep it simple depending on where you’re going. A brand that’s got summer dresses to die for is Rosie True, click here. Hip, flirty, classy, trendy, printed, solid colors, short, maxis – all in soft silky fabrics, perfect for the hot season &  for literally all occasions. How to style summer dresses? I always felt that the best way to style an outfit to a certain look is through shoes & accessories. So you can take any item you want and make it office or cocktail appropriate. And the dresses are no exception. Shift silky dresses are great with ballet pumps or flat sandals for a more comfortable yet sophisticated work look. Add a necklace, boxy bag and a blazer on crispy mornings. Wanna look polished? Go for heels. You can even pull off those flirty dresses for work, if they’re not too short and you wear a blazer on top. Maxis may be too much, yet with a smart top over and chic ballet pumps – you might just be able to get away with it.

Ugly Shoes That Look Great!

chunky-heelsWith fashion being such a trend roller-coaster - the chunky heels, with their 70′s reminiscence were bound to have their moment this summer. When 70′s themselves are another IT trend, you know.  So it’s pretty safe to say the Chunky Heels are the heels of 2013 hot season having us all look like tiny caricatures in huge shoes. I’m sorry beloved 70′s soles, but I just think you’re the ugliest shoes ever. Yet, I can’t help but love you. Talk about toxic relations, right? Well thank God there’s nothing toxic in my love and hate mood swing over chunky heels, except probably overspending & later feeling remorseful over it. Aaaand one more thing, that’s probably at the core of my tiny dislike with these shoes (it is pretty subjective mind you) is the fact that I cannot wear too high chunky heels, cause I’m already too tall. And so I’m left with those hideous square lower heels that are just so unflattering on any legs and feet. But I will refuse to be a fashion victim and will not ever trade personal taste for fashion-must-haves. be they as posh as hell. I’ll just have to do great with what I’ve got and get used to having my head in the clouds (literally) every now and then.  chunky-heels-street-style (2)shoes-trend-chunky-heelsSo let’s get one thing clear then: LOVE them or HATE them? Cause let’s be honest nothing will ever beat hot stilettos and classic pumps. Yet… there’s just something so modern-meets-vintage and feminine-meets-bad-ass chic about these shoes that you (like I) might wanna reconsider your dismissal. Not to mention they’re killing their competition with their comfortable feature. D’ohh. Plus when it comes to styles and designs – the sky’s the limit (even per se… I mean have you seen some of those heels?). All colors and non colors are in, with black chunky models completing a very classic/retro posh look, or those brown’ish shades going more on the boho-chic side, and the colored ones perfect for a shoe statement. Multi-straps, prints, leather, fabrics, colored platforms, crazy heels, color-block et all make us love these ugly suckers. Yeah… I still think some of them are really ugly, but as long as the heel is pretty high and the cut or the shape of the shoe are not too massive – I actually like some of these chunky heels. Let’s have a look at some funky chunky soles and get fashion inspired… chunky-heel-sandalschiq-shoeschunky-sandalsstrappy-chunky-heelschunky-heels-evening-shoeschunky-heels-shoeskatespade-shoesmaykool-shoesshoes-trend-chunky-heels (2)transparent-heelswomen-shoes-chunky-heelsFor the ”‘how to wear them” part, I think we’ll be safe to assume they go with everything, with one restriction: if you can, please avoid channeling a cartoon figurine who looks like they have a hard time walking. Though even so… it’s the quirkiness inside that makes us all special, right? So to answer the HTW question – these big-heels-with-platform shoes look fantastic with cutoffs, short skirts, mini-dresses (think Twiggy for inspo) and I also love what they look with skinny jeans and a slouchy top – very loose rocknroll style. If however you’ve got other styling ideas just do it, have fun with it. With all this trend invasion hitting us from all corners it’s quite easy to pick your own thing and make it personal, original yet trendy nonetheless. Can I See Your… Lingerie?!

exposed-lingerie-styleYES! According to the latest trends (that are trying to push through since 2010 courtesy of all designers) we’ll all be strutting our hot assets (errrrr, gulp) in plain lingerie. On the streets. (question mark) At work. (starting to freak out). On 1st dates. (That’s it! I’m drawing the line here!) Has the world gone mad or what? Behold, you lovely dolls cause it’s not all as it seems (hopefully). From Jason Wu to Alexander McQueen & Dolce & Gabbana or the 90′s Versace we’ve had our share and not-too-subtle cry for the exposed lingerie trend. Cool bra tops, tiny shorts, see-through lace, suspensor tights… I mean just a few seasons ago Vivienne Westwood showed up at her own show in underwear. Aaaaand it’s not all that new. The trend I mean.  In the 15th century I think showing a bit of  that bra/corset’s lace was a fashion must do. It was in the 60′s & 70′s that girls loved their glittering shimmery little shorts, and 90′s had models on magazine covers in tiny little tops that resembled a bra rather than an actual bandeau top, while the lads from Pulp were singing “He’s coming up the stairs, / and in a moment he’ll want to see your underwear.” Ha! Not to mention Madonna and her borderline porn shows from back in the day. Such an inspiration for all of today’s music celebs who just can’t get enough of showing us how flawless they look, and how well they’re performing half naked. But lingerie as a street trend? Really? What pops into my mind right now (right after the fear of us all looking like hookers and misfits) is that Seinfeld episode when everyone was so appalled (yet amused in that beyond hilarious style) at the woman who never wore a top, but a BRA! Blazer on top and she was good to go. Will it come to this? Will we all be immune to bare flesh  and act super nonchalant as our bosses welcome us in their underwear at the monthly meeting? Ha! catwlak-exposed-lingeriejasonwu-lingerie-as-outwear-trndAs a controversy lover and a give-it-all-up for-creativity type you might assume I’m fine with it. Well… wouldn’t mind the sight of a few ripped lads here and there, or the occasional dress that resembles a silky camisole. Hell I’m even cool with those tiny bra-looking tops that actually look amazing with high waisted bottoms. And I must confess I adore exposed suspensor tights. (read mock suspensor thighs actually) But who does’t right? And while I respect what ya’ll want to wear, I’m sticking to the ever classic teaser: bra straps sometimes, or a somewhat see-through top, short shorts et all. Still gotta say it: can’t wait for the day when it’ll be more than OK for us to go ahead and leave the house in our knickers and push-up bras. Drums please!camisole-lingerie-dress=streetstyleexposed-lingeriecelebs-in-lingerie-red-carpetalice-delal-lingerie-lookAnd now back to this exposed lingerie trend that’s trying to make it into our quite perfect little fashion lives. I think it’s all this 90′s and 60′s comeback that’s caused a boom and a hipster feeling of the occasional cool colored bra from underneath a top, or the sight of those high waisted knickers from underneath sheer maxi skirts. Plus we can always blame the celebs, they’re the ones responsible for a a trend sticking to us or not. And to be honest with you it’s the constant sight of Justin Bieber‘s underwear that’s really concerning me (lol). The kid is just a kid to say the least and nicest thing, but apparently no one else knows this and everyone else is channeling the sexy look (let’s all roll our eyes and say ‘as if’ please). Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga (on stage most of the times) but as of lately A listers such as Diane Kruger or Penelope Cruz are giving us the ”look at me (read my boobs) bitch” slap in the face. Evening gown with such a low cut that we’re starting to feel (un)lucky they’re wearing those fancy bras. bra-blazer-lookbra-topdiane-kruger-visible-bra-dressexposed-lingerie-street-style (2)Milan Fashion Week Fall 2011, Pradaexposed-lingerie-trendKristen Stewart-lingerie-dresslingerie-as-outwear-trendlingerie-exposed-trendlingerie-look-street-stylelingerie-street-stylelingerie-street-style-brasolange-lingerie-red-carpetstreet-style-lingeriesuspensor-tights-lingerietaylor-momsen-lingerie-looktrend-2013-exposed-lingerieDon’t know about you but I’m drawing the line at knickers and plain bras. I can deal with sheer dresses, cropped tight tops (aka bras – think Dolce & Gabbana), camisole dresses with punk boots… What do you think? Trashy or Enticing? Is the lingerie as outwear (not yet) trend a desperate cry from designers to shock and shake the trends altogether in the hope of creating a move (another sex revolution anyone?), OR is is just a bad idea that’ll never go beyond our TV screens, iPhones & magazines?

Tank Tops: What’s Your Style?

NijiahDon’t you sometimes feel that you’ve had enough of all this fashion craze and wild mix of trends, and all you need is simplicity and effortless clothes that you just throw on without the slightest care in the world of how you look (but let’s face it, with a tiny hope you’ll pull off the best style)? Do we need a break every now and then from this magical world we call fashion? Especially in summer when it’s really not so easy to do it all while looking great at boiling temperatures. Wild prints & crazy textures, long dresses & funky cut-outs, latest-trend trousers, tops and jackets – who needs you in summer when we’ve got the staples to turn to. TANK TOPS! I know, how… boring. Or too easy. Too sporty? I beg to differ on this one and I know you dolls (as glam and put together as you love to be) too have the guilty pleasure of a tank top and jeans. Nothing will ever beat this look. We can live in tank tops all year round, but they best show their fashion potential in the hot season. I think it’s one of the most versatile pieces ever that can be styled to absolutely any and every look, trend & decade. blak-plain-tank-topbeyonce-tank-toptank-top-trendFor a while now tank tops are making a huge comeback, and in 2013, retail chains are packed with so many styles that it’s impossible to choose. Thank God one comes at a price that’s basically for free if you consider the number of times you’ll be wearing it. From office to parties, to dates, dinners out, beach – TTs are a dime a dozen. Jersey, silky, sequined, simple & basic, printed, see-through, knitted, with your fave quote or icon on them, long, short, cropped, cut-out you name it, it’s there. In all this fantastic see of Tank Tops – which one’s your style?

Printed Tank Top printed-tank-top (2)Cut-out Tank Top cut-out-tank-top-street-styleSlouchy Tank Top slouchy-tank-topTight Tank Top tight-tank-top-styleHow to wear tank tops? That’s easy: however you want it. For a more polished look go for silky flowy fabrics with or without prints or textures, that you can tuck in your maxi skirt, pencil skirt or trousers. Complete the look with hot heels & statement necklaces. A blazer and a big bag for office, or a clutch for a dinner out. Same type of tank tops go amazingly with jeans or cut-offs for a more sophisticated look, especially if you wear some hot heeled shoes and have fun with your accessories. street-style-long-tanktoptank-top=stylesmart-look-tank-topParis Fashion Week September 2011silky-tank-top-lookDid anyone say sophisticated looks? Who needs silky tank tops when you’ve got the plain ”ugly” vintage looking ones. A jersey Tank Top is the piece to live in all summer. If you want to get that Fashion Week street style going on, pair your  vintage/simple/slouchy Tank Top with the most posh pieces (super glam skirts, heels, tons of accessories, bright lips, smart trousers). Clashing styles gives a bit of edge to a look and makes it rather chic and effortless, as if you’d just throw on that top over the most polished clothes ever and got away with it. cropped-tank-top-streetstylejersey-tank-top-street-stylesummer-trend-printed-tank-topolivia-palermo-sequined-tank-topprinted-tank-top (3)statement-tank-toptank-top-streetstyletank-top-style-2013tank-top-skirt-lookOr if you wish to channel your inner grunge persona and do the most coveted look of the year (90′s with a twist) wear your Guns’n Roses Tank Top, or cropped one with jeans (from skinny to boyfriend, washed out or ripped) or cut-offs and sneakers, boots or gladiator sandals. Take notes from off duty models, who are masters of this look. Go Plain Jane on it, or wear some accessories from back in the day to balance the slouchy boy’ish look. tank-top-cutoffs-stylestreetstyle-tank-topstreet-style-tank-toptank-top-boyish-styletank-top-street-styletank-top-style (2)tank-top-style-edgyOne of my favorite style is the cut-out tank top that looks great with a bandeau underneath for that layered look (yes in summer, how cool is that?) which translates into pure chicness. 2013-summer-trend-cut-out-tank-topstank-top-streets-styleOr you could always do the tight sporty tank top with just about anything. There was a time when I used to wear one with all the bottoms in my closet just to see how far can you go on styling one. And trust me you can. From the plain look of a tank top and jeans, to a maxi skirt, shorts, heels, tennis shoes, flip flops the sky is the limit. I think it’s all about having fun. You could never go wrong or do a fashion faux pas with tank tops. The only risk is you might have a too-clean-simple-look, but that can be solved by wearing some fab accessories, if simple is not your thing. It’s all about balance. plain-tank-top-looktight-tank-top-lookAh… sometimes a breath of fresh air is all we need to get our mojos back on, and that’s just what these Tank Tops are: a break from all the psychedelic fashion razzmatazz. Give me a tank top anyday and I’ll cherish it all the way :)

Will You Tie The Knot… On Your Tops?

knotted-shirt (2)I might be a bit too late on reporting this trend, since it’s been going on for a while now courtesy of Kristen Stewart & Rihanna – for celeb reference – and again the ’90′s, which I swear are invading us all over again. Not complaining, but just saying. It does sometimes feel like high-school all over again. Yet, this Knotted Tops Trend is, thank God reinvented, cause let’s face it, we wouldn’t all want to channel Britney Spears or Christina Aguillera with those skin tight low-waisted jeans and ultra fitted tops tied right below the bras while singing ’Ooops I did it again’. Oh no. Today’s trend is more flattering and easy to wear by all ages, sizes and styles. Not to mention it’s got a bit of retro to it, if we’re to talk about the knotted shirts Eva Mendes is always strutting the streets in, looking super hot. eva-mendes-knotted-shirtkristen-stewart-knotted-tshirt-grunge-lookrihanna-knotted-tshirtknotted-tops-retro-trendHow to do this trend? Tie a know on either your shirts or T-shirts and you’ll get a careless fun looking style. The key is a showing a bit of bare midriff and balancing your silhouette, though truth is, this knotted trend is pretty flattering as it is, cause it accentuates the waist and elongates the legs, but you have to do it with high waisted bottoms: shorts, jeans, skirts of all lengths. If you choose a loose top that you tie a knot to, you can play around with sizes on your bottoms and wear them tight (skinny jeans, straight skirts, tight cut-offs) or you can channel your inner Tom boy and feel comfy and chic in oversized trousers or jeans or maxi skirts. If you”re going for the tight knotted top, you might want to balance it all with loose trousers or jeans and large or maxi skirts to avoid looking… ’90′s trashy, cheap or desperate. trend-knotted-shirtknotted-denim-shirt-street-styleknotted-jacketknotted-shirts-stylesAnd now let’s talk Knotted Shirts! You can tie a knot to any shirt you’ve got, or even borrow one from your husband, brother or boyfriend, because even it’s a few sizes too big, it’ll still look great once to tighten it up to your waist. Or you can buy those shirts that are already designed to be knotted. The knotted shirt look is fantastic for casual styles or even for work, if you don’t expose your stomach. You can wear them with jeans, trousers, skirts and even dresses. Yep, when it comes to knotted shirts you can layer all you want: tank tops, t-shirts, dresses, bodices. You’ll look effortlessly sophisticated and I think quite retro in a very modern way. Do the cat-eye shades and big bag for a complete look. For crispy mornings add a blazer or jacket on top. Yay, more layers. jeans-knotted-shirt-street-styleknotted-shirt (3)knotted-shirtknotted-shirt-layerd-lookknotted-shirt-maxi-skirt-streetstyleknotted-shirt-skirt-heels-lokknotted-shirt-streetstyle (2)knotted-shirt-streetstyleknotted-shirt-styleknotted-shirt-trendknotted-shirt-trend-streetstyleWhen it comes to the knotted t-shirt I must say, I’m addicted to this look. I literally wrinkled all my tank tops and t-shirts on one side. The style is so cool and chic that I can’t get enough of, and I think it looks so flattering with skinny high waisted jeans, or cut-offs. You can tie a knot on a side as loose or tight as you like, in the front or in the back. When Kristen Stewart was doing this look a few years ago everyone was WTF, but now we”re all channeling our inner rocknroll meets boho-chic persona. While Kstew started this trend (let’s just assume that) Rihanna made some money with it. Ka-ching! Her River Island collection is literally packed with knots. She’s designed them on tank-tops, t-shirts, skirts and dresses. And she’s wearing them all just to prove how fantastic they look. Don’t know about you but I love them. It’s a cheeky fun grunge-meets-glam style that can be donned with sneakers, boots or high heels. As for the bling – pile pile pile dolls! Ha! I know I’m obsessed. Or what you can do is wear those body-chain-jewelry, that will look amazing from underneath your knotted top. Just a tiny sight of skin and bling will make any knotted outfit a hit.  dress-knotted-shirt-layersback-knot-tshirt-street-styleknotted-t-shirt-styleknotted-top-skirt-street-stylekristen-stewart-knotted-tshirtkristen-stewart-knotted-tshirt-lookrihanna-in-riverisland-knotted-trendThe Knotted Tops Trend is that trend that basically gives more lives to a top, which can be worn as it is, loose, tucked in, or knotted in so many ways that it will look as if you’re rocking a different shirt or t-shirt every time. I loved tying my shirts and t-shirts in high-school, and I love it now. It’s careless yet sophisticated. And it can even look polished in a very retro effortless way, or bohemian/edgy if you feel like it.

Why Are Bloggers Obsessed With Skorts?

skort-fashion-trendFunny thing about fashion is that, while on one hand you’re praised for standing out and being original and unique style wise, on the other hand you get a thumb’s up for sticking to the latest trends or repeatedly obsessive looks that everyone’s doing. Hmm. So which side should we take? Stray from one, or dip into both? One thing’s certain though, fashion is a two-faced bitch that will never be able to make up its mind, so don’t even bother figuring that one out. One minute wearing something is the biggest fashion crime and before you know it, it’s the latest fad in town. Such is the case of the SKORTS – the business in front party in the back latest street style look, or as one publication put it: the skirt you can ride the bike in. Or the skirt that reveals nothing and keeps the sight of you knickers intact in case you fall down (yeah like we fall down once every 2 hours that we needed this invention). Necessity or not, the Skort of 2013 is super posh, reinvented and why not admit it, a fashion hit. Whether it’s all courtesy of those hipster style bloggers or it’s a case of comfort meets style – one thing is clear: the Skort is no longer that ’90′s geek meets soccer mom attire that’s meant to mimic a skirt while everyone knows you’re donning shorts. zara-mini-white-skort2013-summer-look-skort-and-heelskarolina-kurkova-wrap-mini-skirtBut are all skorts in? To be on the safe side on this one, it would be better to stick to the style and brand that, after all, bares all the blame for this fashion craze: The ZARA Skort. You know that weird looking sharp architectural solid color mini little thang? with side pockets for extra coolness and front fabric corners? That’s the one every hipster kid around block is rocking with hot heels, that usually come in the shape of simple strappy sandals. The look is very sophisticated and polished but in an glam edgy sort of way, and there’s nothing not love about this style invention. And the more I think about it the more I feel proud that it took no high end designer or brand & no catwalk show, or celebrity endorsement to make this trend stick. It was all us, the cool kids who ride buses and tubes to work every day. And though I might sound a bit too pretentious or hasty, I am going to say it out loud: the ZARA Skort is the fashion phenomenon of the moment. Will it last? Honestly doubt it, cause it seems to be one of those things you wear the crap out of until it dies. women-skortfashion-trend-the-skortblack-zara-skortblue-zara-skortred-zara-skortskort-and-flats-lookHow do you wear it? The Mini Skort is basically a sporty chic/sporty glam item which tends to make every wearer don it with T-shirts, crispy shirts or slouchy tops and heels to balance off the look. For an extra chicness or sophistication wear some posh bracelets or pile on necklaces. Don a baseball cap for an urban chic style or a sporty jacket. To keep it simple opt for a blazer. Shoes wise  - heels make this skort, look its best, though I’ve seen a few sneakers or flat sandals that do the trick as well, yet it’s not as hipster looking I’ll give you that. Enough talk… let’s just scroll through the street style snapshots of the cool little faces out there and get some fashion inspiration. And while we’re at it… let’s comment away on the ZARA SKORT mania that’s taken over the streets and the style blogs! Why Heeled Sandals Are Single (strapped) This Season?

street-style-ankle-strap-sandalsBecause nothing beats minimalism, that’s why. And hotness. For the past months or so, you might have noticed that every woman and girl with a penchant for quick tasteful hotness is slightly giving in to BDSM. On their feet. Cuffing your ankles may sound a little too risky but let’s not jump to sexual conclusions, cause it’s got nothing to do with it. Other than the sexy vibe it sends to the viewers - The Ankle Strap Sandals – are just that. Hot heeled shoes with ankle straps and a single strap around your toes. It’s basic, minimalist yet irresistibly sexy and chic. Personally I think they’re the hit shoe of 2013 summer, and the sandals that will never die with time. I remember they were pretty huge in the late ’90′s with those leather pencil skirts and cropped tight tops. You can roll your eyes all you want with this 90s invasion, but you gotta admit its fashion revival and reinvention is tremendous. Top this shoe trend with designers’ bondage, leather et all tiny obsession and you get some pretty cool looks and styles for 2013. And though they might be evening shoes, it’s in these times that breaking boundaries is embraced and permitted. So, when it comes to ankle strap heeled sandals, to hell with dusted fashion rules and faux-pas.

Ankle Strap Stiletto Sandals

Channeling your inner bad-ass girl whose subtle hotness is show stopping – might be one way to go about this. Actually, however you put on these hot shoes – ‘hot & cool route‘ is the only way you’ll be going. A major look right now is balancing styles, clashing and playing with clothes that do not go together, and obtaining a look that’s so eclectic, effortless and trendy, it’s fantastic. Now I remember an old fashion saying: never wear heels with sports wear. Pfff. Fuck that. Unless you’ve tried it, and resist labeling it as confusing, too cheesy or desperate – hold you’re thoughts for a while, and give these babies a try in your most comfy BF jeans or sweatpants. Having said that, ankle strap sandals are made for cutoffs, boyfriend jeans, slouchy extravagant urban clothes like a sweatshirt & skirt, or a denim jumpsuit, or a day-dress and a baseball cap. Not to mention tank-tops, t-shirts and sporty chic outfits. These hot simple, no-fuss-heels add all the drama and sexiness to an otherwise casual look. I don’t know if it’s the way we walk in heels, our instant attitude swing as we climb on hot shoes or it’s just the simplicity yet glamour of this trend – but it don’t get better than this. ankle-strap-sandalsankle-strap-sandals-stylecolored-ankle-strap-sandalsankle-strap-sandals-lookheeled-sandals-streetstylehow-to-wear-heeled-sandlasminimalist-sandlas-street-stylerihanna-ankle-strap-sandlasrihann-single-strap-sandalssandals-trendsimple-sandals-streetstylestrappy-sandlas-street-stylestreet-style-single-strap-sndalstumblr_mo9a8a6NuT1rg7d7ao1_500Being a posh shoe and all… of course this single strap / ankle strap sandal seems to be at its most when paired with its own attire: smart or sexy dresses & skirts. Or evening dresses. D’ohhh. Haven’t seen a celebrity who has not once donned this kinda shoe. And though I’m just a mere mortal – I myself have chosen a bling-bling pair of these sandals for my wedding day. Contrary to belief they are super comfy and perfect if you want to look hot, yet are not planning to peek a boo into the ceiling. They’re not that high. Well unless you opt for the platform with heels ankle sandals, but the classic design I most love is the simple one: 2 straps please. Thank you. colored-strap-sandalshigh-heeled-strap-sandalsminimal-shoes-heeled-sandalsrihanna-ankle-strap-sandalsrihanna-sandalssandals-trend-2013shoes-trend-ankle-strap-sandalsshoes-trend-single-strap-sandalsstreet-style-strap-sandlastumblr_m8rumeI3ns1qh9n5lo1_500streetstyle-single-strap-sandalsWhen to wear them?

If we were all Twilight vampires who seductively glide any surface we’d probably never take them off. Our fleeting existence is but a ridiculous obstacle in the way of us looking polished in strappy sandals from morning to evening. Sure, it may be just a little to inconvenient (time wise, if not for anything else. we can walk in sky scrapers at 8 a.m. just fine, thank you) to don these heels on the tube or the bus at peak hours with your bag, newspaper, coffee, iPhone, and headphones to look after, but it’s not impossible. We all know by now women are superheroes and would rather suffer than not nail it style wise. Truth be told, it might be a bit too much in plain day, but if you’ve got just a block to walk, or a few minutes and you’ve reached your destination, why not wear them. Ah… they do look so fabulous with those office trousers and silky tops. Or do you know what? Take them in your bag and ditch your tennis shoes at work for a totally put together look. So yeah… work, going out, cocktail parties, dinners, weddings – that just about covers ‘the when’ of these shoes. ankle-strap-sandals-2013-summer-trendrihanna-ankle-strap-minimal-sandalssingle-strap-heeled-sandalssingle-strap-sandals-look (2)strappy-minimalist-sandals-streetstylestreet-style-ankle-sandalsI honestly think, shoes wise, the single strap sandals or the ankle strap sandals (however you want to put it) is a massive trend, and its versatility has probably got a lot to do with it. However, the look that’s got a hold of my heart is the urban chic style: minimal heels, boyfriend jeans, cropped top and a bit of bling. We might be a long way from Cinderella days, but who says we haven’t all got a bit of princessy persona underneath all this confident attitude? Cindy-badass-rella anyone?

Let’s Talk Street Style At Fashion Week!

trends-fashion-week-couture-street-styleIt sometimes feels as if our fashion existence is measured in FWs. D’ohhh. So now we are somewhere between catching our breaths from the Couture Shows, and working out butts off to get invites for the next FW that’s practically just around the corner. I mean London FW’s schedule was already announced so the crazy days are upon us. And they come with tons of work, travel aaaand girls’ biggest issue ever (in case you nail an invite) “What to wear?“. I’ll tell you something though, every time I look over these street style photos from any FW shows it seems to me as if I am the only one stressing over this what to wear matter, (and still not pulling it off majorly, if I were to come clean) – cause every single person in there seems to either not give a shit what they put on (and look Ah-mazing) or… seriously now… draped in CHANEL or DIOR - how could you not score a Phil Oh photo in Vogue. But let’s not even discuss this posh category and linger a bit on the first one. Wrinkled shirts, messy hair, frumpy clothes, vintage (read old) granny clothes, unflattering outfits  - take front row in Tommy Ton’s or Phil Oh’s snapshots. Sure they’re always paired with a Celine bag or a Chanel little something, that’s always donned with the littlest care in the world as if it just cost 1 quid. Old rusted rings take the front light alongside some uber posh and expensive bracelets, while the cutoffs reveal stained pockets and the tops haven’t been ironed in ages. Who gives a fuck! Clothes are treated like just clothes and style seems to be such a long way from big labels and price tags. (sometimes)animal-print-hairfashion-week-couture-street-style-messy-hairwhat-to-wear-to-fashion-weekclassic-style-fashion-week-couture-street-styleBig editors must probably be biting their fingers off (they’re way past the nails) at this media circus turned big-party-for-everyone-with-a-knack-for-fashion. It was only years ago that this circle was closed, and now… well… it’s still not exactly a piece of cake getting in, but hanging outside the shows is somewhat part of our pop-culture. Not yet famous? You can still go there in your best style, see and be seen. Bloggers, photographers, and all sorts of artists with a passion for sartorial things shows up in what appear to be effortless bored-to-death looks . One rule exists: in order to be a hipster kid wear at least one major weird funky fun item. It usually is sunglasses, a wicked hairdo or some DIY project on display. cropped-top-fashion-week-couture-street-stylefashion-week-couture-street-stylefashion-week-couture-street-style-bagfashion-week-couture-street-style-black-and-whitefashion-week-couture-street-style-cropped-topfashion-week-couture-street-style-sweaterfashion-week-couture-street-style-susie-bubblefunky-shades-fashion-week-couture-street-stylehairstyle-fashion-week-couture-street-stylehairstyles-fashion-week-couture-street-stylehairstyles-street-stylestreet-style-couture-showsstreet-style-fashion-weekOf course everyone is still starstruck when spotting Anna Dello Russo or Miroslava Duma – but again these ladies are, like us, having loads of fun with clothes. Yeah bigger labels but still – creativity pushes the boundaries as well, and it’s all about the attitude and mood all wrapped up in brilliant visuals. anna-dello-russo-flamenco-style-fashion-week-couture-street-stylemiroslava-duma-fashion-week-couture-street-stylebags-fashion-week-couture-street-stylebelts-fashion-week-couture-street-styleblack-and-white-trend-fashion-week-couture-street-stylechanel-outift-fashon-weekfashion-week-couture-street-style (2)fashion-week-couture-street-style-cropped-top (2)fashion-week-couture-street-style-all-blackfashion-week-couture-street-style-detailsfashion-week-couture-street-style (3)fashion-week-couture-street-style-princess-skirtmaxi-skirt-fashion-week-couture-street-style (2)neon-trend-fashion-week-couture-street-styleoversize-top-fashion-week-couture-street-stylered-shoes-fashion-week-couture-street-styleyellow-bag-fashion-week-couture-street-styleWhat happens at FW, street style wise is definitely a movement of our times and a cool phenomenon. So what if it’s labeled as a circus? Circus is fun. All these cool kids who mingle so beautifully with sophisticated rich people are proving to the world it’s OK to show up in clothes that imply a middle finger up at the luxe side of fashion. We’re not against high end. No sir. Give me a CHANEL anything and I’ll take it. Yeah I’ll wear it with my H&M knuckle rings & my cheap eBay watch… So what?

Has today’s fashion scene changed? And could street style alone be crowned as nowadays biggest fashion influence?

neon-lime-dressYeah you might need a pair of shades at all times, around this summer’s coolest dresses, but sometimes it’s all worth it. For fashion sake you know. It’s like the ’80′s all over again – kitsch, brightness, chaotic wild mix of colors and prints,  and the infamous NEON. Impossible to miss, it’s right there next to you on some dress in the bus, walking past you on those gorgeous shoes, of fiddling next to you on that must-have-it-bag. 2013 Summer may be all black & white meets the ’60′s but it still leaves enough room for fun funky styles. Ah… the NEON trend is just one of those styles that’s so daring and challenging if you only had the guts to try it. Gotta say… though I simply adore it on others, I have yet to try it myself. 2013 Neon Trend takes you right out of anonymity, so forget getting lost in the crowd with this one, as it makes you stand out in the most fashionable funky way possible. And I think the key to pulling off a neon look is confidence & loads of fun. Never take yourself too seriously, and don whatever neon shade you love, with a fab smile. street-style-neon-pink-dressShades of fuchsia, green, yellows, limes, pinks, blues, or a mix of all the above are invading us on dresses, blazers, trousers, tops aaaand accessories (shoes, bracelets, bags), which actually makes it a lot easier for those of us who are a little late on trying on this trend. If jumping on the neon dress wagon is way too much for now, go for a pair of bright yellow, lime or pink classic pumps, or a gorgeous bag. Still shy? Bracelets!!! I adore those ones with a bit of neon pop of color in them. And d’you know what? A splash of brightness might hurt the eyes a bit, but it sure makes an outfit so much more trendy and fun. Anyway you know how I’m always up for a new fashion challenge, and go on about fucking all fashion rules, pushing boundaries and doing your own thing? Well… no exception here. Today we talk NEON Dresses for 2013 summer and why you need to step out of your comfort zone to rock these babies! Or if neon is already your thing, go on and tell us all about it! dramatic-neon-dressfuchsia-dress-trendgreen-neon-dress-catwalkorange-neon-dress-trend

NEON Dresses are a must have this summer: flirty, architectural, form fitting, maxi, day time, evening, beach dresses. The styles and designs are a dime a dozen, and the colors are absolutely stunning. There’s just something so tropical & luxurious in a very seaside Mediterranean sort of way about donning a Neon dress that I find it irresistible. Those with bold fashion personalities can even mix and play with more neon shades on the same dress, or just accessorize it with a neon belt, shoes or bag. All is permitted this summer and the only rule is having fun splurging on brightness. Best part about neon dresses is that they’re effortless, so mustn’t fuss a lot about the rest of your outfit when rocking one, just because it’s enough of a statement. street-style-neonNeon Dresses Styles

One of my favorite styles are the maxi dresses and the form fitting ones, in wild prints and knee length. As shades I love everything from yellows to greens (lime shades) and I adore the contrast neon makes with a brown skin tone. It’s absolutely fantastic. Forever Unique has got some great styles in case you want to browse or shop for the neon dresses look. Cocktail, party, edgy meets simplicity sort of way styles will have you sigh. And the neon printed mini dress… that one is to die for.
